Church Development Committee

The church development committee is responsible for increasing church presence and visibility in the community, as well as increasing church membership and attendance. We look for people-oriented activities to attract and retain congregants. We also look to improving the church's aesthetics and accessibility.

In the past, we have offered gifts to congregants on the highest attendance services: Christmas Eve and Easter. Our goal is to provide a special message to prospective congregants.

We have also organized activities to bring our congregation closer together and to highlight our presence in the community. We have had retreats in Buena Vista, where group outings were arranged (rafting, hiking, four-wheeling, fishing, and shopping). During the retreats, we provided breakfast and dinner for the participants, as well as evening get-togethers around a fire, including the ever-popular S'mores!

We organized a multi-family Rummage Sale at the Black Forest Festival (held on the 2nd Saturday of August). This was a very successful fundraiser, and everyone who worked the grounds that day had a great time. We also provide free (congregation-donated) bottled water to those that attended the festival.

We are always looking for new ideas to meet our goals, and welcome suggestions!
