Diaconate Committee

The Diaconate Committee is committed to serve God and the Church. As one of the spiritual arms of the church, the Diaconate endeavors to faithfully assist the minister in the celebration of the sacraments of the church, adornment of the sanctuary, providing fellowship to members and community, and assisting the minister with the spiritual activities of the church.

Through various means, the Diaconate seeks to carry out its primary role of service to all. These services include:

• Supplying the sacraments for Communion Sunday (bread and juice), Baptism, and other special services.
• Decoration of the church for Easter and Advent.
• Changing the altar cloths and providing altar flowers.
• Providing ushers and greeters for services; keeping the pews supplied with donation envelopes, Bibles, and hymnals.
• Provision for special non-Sunday Services (i.e. Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maunday Thursday).
• Provision for Sunday Services honoring certain holidays (i.e., Veteran's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day).
